As a lifelong Spider-Man fan, this alternate universe take just doesn't land. It feels like forced DEI and random changes for the sake of being different, rather than honoring the character’s legacy. If you know nothing about Spider-Man, it might seem fun. But for true fans, it’s more of a background show—on par with Velma in terms of missed potential. Watch while doing chores, or skip it altogether.
