One of the many Italian callbacks to Jaws, carrying the right amount of tension with low budget grit and lots of sweaty swamp action. Since it’s Italian you get the off kilter dubbing that is part of the charm. The crocodile looks like a floating piece of rubber but when it is in action the damned thing is gigantic, locking its jaws around anything in the way. We’re all here for the cheap crocodile sleaze but it’s only the lurking plot device under the scummy local politics subplot. Toxic waste is being dumped into the swamp waters where this unsuspecting mutant of a reptile roams. Anyone and anything that crosses its path is pulled down into a bloody bubbling puddle, you’re not even safe in your own home as this bad boy barges right through a house’s walls to eat victims.
