A Colorful Retelling with Charm and Energy
"Aladdin" brings the classic Disney tale to life with vibrant visuals, energetic performances, and just enough magic to make it a worthwhile watch. While it doesn't completely capture the enchantment of the original animated film, it manages to stand on its own as an entertaining live-action adaptation.
The film’s strongest asset is its visual appeal—colorful sets, elaborate costumes, and big musical numbers give it a lively, theatrical vibe. Will Smith’s take on the Genie is different but charismatic in its own way, adding modern flair without attempting to replicate Robin Williams. Mena Massoud and Naomi Scott also deliver likable performances, with Scott's version of Jasmine given more depth and agency.
Some parts of the movie feel rushed or over-polished, and a few moments lack the emotional pull of the original. Still, the music remains catchy, the energy is high, and the updated approach brings something fresh to familiar material.
A fun and flashy adventure that honors the original while carving out its own path. Not perfect, but definitely enjoyable.
