A dark reboot to the beloved Jon Lovitz series of the same name from the late 20th century. While, similar in tone, the pop culture references are deeper cuts this time around as it is set in 1934; e.g. there's a great scene where the lead character of Jay Sherman (played here, subtlety and nuanced, by Sir Ian McKellen) dunks on some old bitch for, not only, a nervous Spoonerism, but also not knowing the difference between Jacobean and Elizbethean time periods! 🔥🔥🔥🥊🥊 Lol probably just for the trailer but gold is gold.
Stay tuned for the post-credts scene where Sir Ian McKellen points at the camera and says "It Stinks!"
