Atmospheric and vibey as crap; I love this movie, but it's not "good" really -- too many odd casting choices (Guy Pearce, Locan Marshall-Green) and weird tropes smooshed on. There's a fantastic score, a ton of good ideas, and great acting from Noomi Rapace, Michael Fassbender, Charlize Theron, Idris Elba, and the rest. The folks who don't shine in this -- I don't blame. It seems like the content was probably changing out from under them constantly, and some of the choices make no sense in what turned out to be the final edit. I will revisit this for the good parts, and enjoy it as part of the Alien legend, though. It definitely qualifies for that, and is better than some of the worst entries.
