Lovecraft Country follows Atticus Freeman as he joins up with his friend Letitia and his Uncle George to embark on a road trip across 1950s Jim Crow America in search of his missing father. This begins a struggle to survive and overcome both the racist terrors of white America and the terrifying monsters that could be ripped from a Lovecraft paperback.

This is such a great science fiction/Drama series that touches on so many fronts. The storytelling is so varied and the inclusion of so many topics gives the series a great amount of rewatchability. One bit that is so unique about this series is how it pulls in topics of American racism and weaves them into the stories as well. Jurnee Smollett and Jonathan Majors do such a good job throughout the series and make you identify and care about the characters. This is one of the smartest, scariest dramas around. The only bad this about it is it leaves you feeling like they could have done so much more with the story and just left the viewers hanging.
