While three of the fiercest warriors in human history—a Viking raider, a ninja in feudal Japan, and a WWII pilot—are killers in their own right, they are merely prey for their new opponent: the ultimate killer of killers.
Check out my video HERE Predator fans are eating well! Danny Trachtenberg serves up a full-course, multi-era feast that Predator fans have hungered for. This anthology-style format is perfect for this franchise, as we get to see Predators hunt Earth's most dangerous killers through three different time periods. Each chapter shows how different cultures and combat styles stack up against these interplanetary hunters. I am always skeptical of major franchises that expand into animation to world build and expand lore. It doesn't always work and can, in some cases, make the IP feel diluted and cheap. But I am thrilled to admit that this effort works really well. The animation style and character design really lend themselves to the brutal violence and gritty action the franchise is so well known for. I would love to see more Predator stories done this way. But I have to admit, one of my favorite things about the Predator franchise is how little we actually know about this race of aliens. I feel like knowing very little about the predators has always made them more mysterious, far more interesting, and scary as hell. In a lot of ways, keeping them shrouded in mystery has been their greatest strength. That's why I'm not exactly the biggest fan of learning too much about the predators, like their language, home planet, culture, etc. It kinda kills the vibe. And although I LOVED the first three chapters of this movie on their own, I did struggle a little bit with the final act. I don't think connecting all three stories together worked very well. It felt kinda forced. But, there is no denying this movie is so much fun, and it delivers exactly what a Predator fan could hope for: inventive kills, tense showdowns, and a showcase of why these hunters are so iconic. Final Verdict: Predator: Killer of Killers is a bloody, stylish, and ambitious entry that proves there’s still plenty of life—and terror—in this franchise. Even with a slightly shaky finale, it’s a wild ride that respects the mythos while daring to try something new. If you’re a fan, this is a hunt you won’t want to miss.
