In 2071, roughly fifty years after an accident with a hyperspace gateway made the Earth almost uninhabitable, humanity has colonized most of the rocky planets and moons of the Solar System. Amid a rising crime rate, the Inter Solar System Police (ISSP) set up a legalized contract system, in which registered bounty hunters, also referred to as "Cowboys", chase criminals and bring them in alive in return for a reward.

Alright first time finishing this show and here are my thoughts. The animation and score really carry this to be as good as it is. The thing I can't really get over is just how ingrained sexism is in this show. It drives a lot of the characters motives and it is seen in like every single woman in this show its kinda fucked up. I get that this show was of its time but god damn did the politics and philosophies of this show not age well.
