“chewing gum helps me think.”
“sweetie, you're wasting your gum.”
such a funny and heartwarming film. everything is spectacular, from the production and costume designs to the way the camera explores the space. the opening scene that pushes in from the ocean into and around the club is so energetic and immersive and there are plenty of other moments like that, like when armand is serving the guatemalan peasant soup. the ensemble cast bounces so well off of each other, and the absurdity of nearly all of the characters bouncing off williams’ comedic straight man is just exquisite.
i will say the entire evening spent during the dinner was so anxiety inducing despite how funny it was; it’s honestly exactly how i felt watching uncut gems, which is a wild statement to make but it’s true. loved this movie.
