The sequel to Waxwork is quite ambitious. Following immediately after the events from the first film, Lost in Time takes an approach of traveling through time portals of different films from its era. Ironically given the casting of Bruce Campbell there is a strong overall arc of Evil Dead throughout including a fight with a severed hand, deadite-like ghouls, and even a flying demon much like the one in Army of Darkness. This only adds to the fun as their are nods to countless other films like Frankenstein, 2001: A Space Odyssey, Alien, Dawn of the Dead, Monty Python, and more. There were a handful of really fun splatter gore effects too like eyes and a brain being squeezed out of one's head.
If it didn't turn into a slog spending too long in the fantasy realm and kept up the energy this would be a great spooky season watch as it instilled the vibes. It just turned very messy and difficult to follow.
