The Woman in the Yard

A mysterious woman repeatedly appears in a family's front yard, often delivering chilling warnings and unsettling messages, leaving them to question her identity, motives and the potential danger she might pose.
A pretty good entry into the "trauma horror" genre, a subgenre I’ve always found intriguing. While it’s not necessarily something you’ll want to revisit multiple times, it offers a gripping one-time viewing experience. The film does a nice job of balancing psychological and supernatural horror elements, keeping you on edge while also delving into some deeper, darker themes.
What stands out most is its exploration of mental illness, grief, and depression. The way the film weaves these issues into its narrative is both haunting and insightful. It doesn’t rely on jump scares; instead, it builds an unsettling atmosphere that makes you question what’s real and what’s a manifestation of the protagonist's inner turmoil.
