Squid Games wish it had a nanogram of the depth and story Alice in Borderland has. Alice in Borderland balanced the gory deaths with compelling characters. People that are horrible, people that are good, people that get corrupted, people who look for an escape, etc. All of them combined together to mesh into a compelling story of different personalities and views living in a world fraught with the danger of constant fear of death.
If you want a series that blends a kaleidoscope of personalities into an adventure that mixes action, thriller, and social commentary into a well blended package, this is the series to watch.
if you want to watch brainless wanton gory deaths with minimal development and hammy challenges, then stick to Squid Games.
