Watchable, underrated movie. The acting is very well done for a no-name indie film where not many of the cast has IMDB profiles. There's also thought put into the story, and the logic to it is mostly cohesive. I have two questions regarding how exposition relates to screenplay, but they aren't glaring oversights that detract from the film. LeJon Woods' acting is investing. There are some big studio films that are MUCH worse than this, so I have to give credit where it's due.
There are some political and ethical undertones, especially around racist southerners trying to murder people of color. Plenty of people don't understand how racist motives are behind most atrocities, especially here in the US in 2025. You can't pretend you're not judging people based on their skin color when your orange clown tells you non-whites are illegal immigrants, and then lets a billionaire white immigrant destroy the economy. And the movie also does a good job addressing the drug trafficking ring in southern Appalachia, furthering the rightful criticism that southern whites give the rest of us a bad reputation. It's not a "woke" film by any means, but it ACKNOWLEDGES that racism is still an issue, and all those racists get satisfyingly lynched.
