Singin' in the Rain

Singin' in the Rain
A silent film star falls for a chorus girl just as he and his delusionally jealous screen partner are trying to make the difficult transition to talking pictures in 1920s Hollywood.

Not what I expected.
Although still entertaining, I personally could have done without some of the song and dance numbers as they're somewhat in contrast to the sharp, engaging, fresh-feeling story weaved within. It's vibrant, colourful, confident and at times laugh out loud funny.
It was Hollywood being delightfully introspective.
