From a mountain peak in South Korea, a man plummets to his death. Did he jump, or was he pushed? When detective Hae-joon arrives on the scene, he begins to suspect the dead man's wife Seo-rae. But as he digs deeper into the investigation, he finds himself trapped in a web of deception and desire.

A stunningly beautiful neo-noir from Park Chan-wook that follows Hae-jun (Park Hae-il) a detective that becomes infatuated with Seo-rae (Tang Wei) the prime suspect his murder investigation and widow to the victim. Tang Wei is perfection as mysterious femme fatale and Hae-jun’s constant eye-dropping suggest that he isn’t necessarily seeing everything clearly. Twists and turns and a not so great subtitle track made this a challenging watch at times. Actually had to rewatch a few parts to make sense of everything. Even considering that, it’s a captivating watch with an ending that left me rather heartbroken.
