The Menu is a portrayal of a man losing the passion that built him his empire and the dire consequences that has on other people. We are taken on a journey that has been carefully designed to make it's victims as uncomfortable as humany possible. The first time I watched The Menu, I was left with a lingering feeling that the film took itself a little too seriously, that it was a little too pretentious. Upon a second viewing and now see that was the entire point. Seeing a room full of "normal" people being shown to be the rot that drove Slowik to lose his passion is a beautiful thing to behold. Excellent performances accross the board with Taylor-Joy, Fiennes and Hoult being the standouts.
