Kandahar
CIA operative Tom Harris succeeded in his Iran mission but later on got his identity exposed. Now the agent has to escape from Afghanistan. He is pursued by mercenaries, war lords and elite special forces of the enemy. Getting to Kandahar is the only chance for salvation. Here, either allied helicopters or a bullet with his name will be waiting for the hero.

At its core, this is a pretty typical Gerard Butler action/thriller movie, which isn't a bad thing. It's pretty natural to compare "Kandahar" to "The Covenant", 2023's other film about a Westerner and his translator in Afghanistan. This never quite rises to the level of Guy Ritchie's film overall, but Kandahar actually does a better job of portraying the multiple sides involved, which is a nice contrast to most war/action films. Ultimately, this is a solid action film and will entertain those going in with the appropriate expectations.
