In the war for control of Manhattan, Maggie and Negan find themselves trapped on opposite sides.
So I just watched and I gotta say, this thing kinda gave me Event Horizon (1997) flashbacks, and not just 'cause there's chaos everywhere. Like, this episode is basically a gateway-to-hell but in Manhattan instead of deep freakin’ space. And bro… the tension? Wild. Maggie (Lauren Cohan) and Negan (Jeffrey Dean Morgan) are like the horror-drama version of Sam Neill and Laurence Fishburne from Event Horizon. Maggie’s got that laser-focus “I’ll do whatever it takes” energy like Dr. Weir (Sam Neill), and you can totally see her sanity fray a bit. Negan’s kinda like Miller (Fishburne) – grizzled, been through the fire, just tryna hold everything together while all hell literally breaks loose. Like, swap black holes and hell portals for crumbling skyscrapers and walker hordes, and it’s same vibes, different zip code. And bro, no joke, The Dama (Lisa Emery) gives off straight-up gothic villain energy, like if the Event Horizon (1997) ship was a person. Creepy, manipulative, and prob hiding some kind of ancient evil. I'm not saying Manhattan is the new Hell dimension... but I'm also not not saying that. It loses half a star 'cause it didn’t go full space-madness level like Event Horizon did – no eyeball-ripping or dimension-hopping nightmare montages. But still, for a zombie show, this ep was tight.
