This is such a great follow up to the first movie. The cast is absolutely brilliant and all of them are on top form, Poots, Elba, Byrne, Renner, Carlyle, etc etc, are so good. The story is really interesting, and Carlyle's character arc is very well done, from the opening scene to his scene in the subway, fantastic! There are some amazing set pieces in this, like the one I just mentioned at the start of the movie, and the helicopter scene where he mows down a horde of infected! It's a brilliant sequel that matches the first, I loved it.
