Hollywood being hollywood. I doubt this was anyones vision of a good story. It feels like it was all just painting by numbers. First of all the writing is AWFUL. Trite in every way. The movie does nothing to earn anything it does. So by the climax I'm yawning asking myself "who even cares?". The movie is pretty much only about John, Natalie, and Eiza's characters and they have 0 chemistry. While all the other characeters are more like set dressing and characatures of trope characters from this genre. It has more than earned its low rating. And I hope they don't make the sequel they so heavy handidly hinted at.
The flow of this movie is also a large part of what makes it hard to care. The scenes cut to eachother with sometimes little to no setup as to why we are going where we are going. It is almost like having a child ramble on about one of their favorite shows. Running out of breath and butchering anything of value in what they are saying. It's just a shame this was created by grown adults.
Hollywood, please stop letting your favorite nephew or whoever is writing this garbage write your movies. They obviously don't know what makes a good story and what doesn't.
Id rather watch National Treasure a dozen times before ever watching this movie again.
