Unhinged CAT III insanity! Outright brutal and wildly offensive just how the best category three features are. There's actually a bit of craft here too with a little bit of a giallo essence to it. That opening attack scene with the metal beams, while horrifying, is actually so artful in its shot compositions and lighting. Strange in that the killer is revealed in the first third rather than the usual surprise at the end.
Speaking of the finale, this one is unforgettable. The killer just might be one of the most crazed performances you could find. Everything about Red to Kill just blew me away and best of all there's no slapstick humor to ruin the grim tension.
