Deep Blue Sea

Deep Blue Sea
Researchers on the undersea lab Aquatica have genetically altered the brains of captive sharks to develop a cure for Alzheimer's disease. But there's an unexpected side effect: the sharks got smarter, faster, and more dangerous. After a big storm damages their remote research facility, they must fight for their lives.

"Deep Blue Sea" has its moment of glory when Samuel L. Jackson meets his unexpected fate mid-speech, yet that single highlight demands sifting through much of the film. The plot thickens with the notion that the sharks possess an almost strategic understanding of the facility's layout, systematically orchestrating its downfall to bypass a fence. Such a premise stretched the bounds of believability a bit too far for my taste.
