I do like that the show builds up to Pennywise (in terms of his actual clown character) and that his big entrance isn't granted in the first fifteen minutes of starting the program. This could end up being really good, and I'll grant it more time to grow as a series given that Chucky was another stellar horror-character icon TV series with fun, impressive kills and storytelling.
