The complete opposite of Godzilla Minus One, which I actually came to appreciate. This is a monster film that is completely aware of its core audience and everything seems like a vehicle for fun. It's unabashedly stupid and silly and fantastical and the plot is secondary to big classic monster cameos and awesome monster fights. The entire cast is hamming it up and the story has the arc of a bad anime, but the scale and monsters looked as cool as ever. Smoke a bowl and turn off your mind from the terrible genocidal fascism taking over the world and get hyped watching Mini Kong put in the work.
