Sinners

Sinners
From Ryan Coogler - director of "Black Panther" and "Creed" - and starring Michael B. Jordan, comes a new vision of fear: "Sinners." Trying to leave their troubled lives behind, twin brothers (Jordan) return to their hometown to start again, only to discover that an even greater evil is waiting to welcome them back.

This isn't your typical horror movie where characters you don't care about get killed in mindless ways with no buildup. Instead, this movie takes its time to make you care about the characters. It's a 2 hour movie and the entire first hour is used to build up the plot and get you invested in the characters, which makes it much more satisfying and thrilling when the action actually starts.
I used to think Coogler was just a decent director (based on the Black Panther movies), but I underestimated him big time. This movie is a visual masterpiece. The music in this movie is INSANE. The way they used music in this movie reminded me of Baby Driver. Ludwig Göransson is definitely getting another oscar nomination for this. The one shot music scene is one of the greatest things I've ever watched (you would know what scene I'm talking about when you watch the movie).
Go watch this on the biggest screen you can. This is a theater worthy movie, watching it at home wouldn't do it justice.
