Waiting for Guffman

Waiting for Guffman
Aspiring director Corky St. Clair and the marginally talented amateur cast of his hokey small-town musical production go overboard when they learn that Broadway theater agent Mort Guffman will be in attendance.

It's a mockumentary about a theater guru putting on a show in a small nowhere town. Everyone is over-the-top and takes the whole thing way too seriously. Similar movies are Spinal Tap, A Mighty Wind, and Best in Show. Waiting for Guffman holds its own in that group. If you're a "theater" person, or have dealt with small town politics, you're going to find this relatably hilarious.
