Devil in Disguise: John Wayne Gacy

Chicago-area contractor John Wayne Gacy leads a double-life as a serial killer, while detectives piece together clues that lead to a shocking discovery.
We do not get to see any of the actual killings - a deliberate strategy which, for the most part, works. the portrayed victims come across as inidiviual people with their own histories and personalities, just like they really were. however, there is something missing. yes, we can cut away before the horror starts, but thats not real life. and this aspect of gacy, the torturer and rapist and murderer is only glimpsed at. not enough to bring across the monster he was.
performances are good all around, they included some nice historical details such as the misspelling of gacy's name (episode 3). what i do not understand is why they left out the iconic closing of the D.A. (look it up). that would have made a powerful moment.
All in all recommended not only for true crime fans!
