Hit Man is not what I expected, in the best way possible. It's easy to think that it will similar to Netflix original movies, a generic action thriller starring an attractive lead male star. However, it's actually a film festival darling by Richard Linklater that got purchased by Netflix and got resigned to a straight-to-streaming release. Instead, it's this sort of screwball comedy-romance of things spiraling out of control. The quirky humor is pretty great (love the dedication at the end), and Adria Arjona and Glen Powell are charismatic, sexy, and have tons of chemistry. Their interactions carry the movie. I also loved all of the different disguises that are featured throughout the movie. In some ways, this is the movie I wanted Fall Guy to be, where the leads actually have chemistry, there is real sexual tension, and the humor lands. The ending felt a bit anticlimactic, but I enjoyed the rest to overlook it. Don't go into it expecting action and you will be rewarded.
