Halloween Pussy Trap Kill! Kill!

Halloween Pussy Trap Kill! Kill!
On Halloween, all-girl band "Kill Pussy Kill" unwittingly upset an evil genius who, in turn, lure the girls into his Hell House. With a ticking clock and the mastermind watching, the question becomes - are you willing to kill to stay alive?

That title. I just shook my head. I know it alludes to Faster Pussycat, Kill, Kill! but it seemed a little much. With that said, let’s talk about why I watched this - a couple reasons, actually. The first being Dave Mustaine of Megadeath and Richard Greico of 21 Jump Street and Booker. If these two are listed in the credits I’m not sure why kind of ride I’m in for. The story is about a band called Kill Pussy Kill trying to get to their next gig when their van breaks down. A gas station attendant offers to help and drives them up the road where they can get a vehicle to borrow. The thing is, Richard Greico has other plans. He gassed them and locked them in a basement. Then it the movie just turns into Saw with Dave Mustaine as the mastermind.
Okay, the other reason I watched this movie - I immediately recognized the name of the director. I’ve seen some of his Asylum movies like Hold Your Breath and Atlantic Rim. They weren’t terrible. Asylum makes dumb movies, but they’re fun. He also did Bound with Charisma Carpenter and some other low level movies that were directed better than they had a right to be for the budget and churn at Asylum especially.
This movie is just a rip off of Saw, but Mustaine’s voice haunting the unwitting contestants works. Greico was fine in the movie, but forgettable. The female actors were hired more for eye candy than acting. The movie knows what it is and does it with confidence despite not being good. It creates a sort of feeling like watching 80’s slasher rip offs like Sweet Sixteen, where you can see someone who loves the craft made it but didn’t know how to make a great movie. I feel like I’m repeating myself so I’ll just say this - there are worse ways to spend 90 minutes, like watching 2/3 of Jurassic World: Rebirth.
