Daniel Day-Lewis is without a doubt one of the best actors of all time. I can't imagine a better portrayal of (dis?) honest Abe. I can't say whether the film is 100% historically accurate, but I know that it gets a lot of the themes right. I plan to read 'Team of Rivals' in the future so I may re-visit this film after that to gauge its historical accuracy. Regardless, it's an incredibly shot film (no surprise from Spielberg), and the cast is very impressive. I felt immersed in the 19th century sets and costumes from start to finish. I think Spielberg is at his best when doing historical dramas like Schindler's List and Saving Private Ryan, and this is no different.
