Honestly not much compelling here. I've heard it likened to a male version of sex in the city and honestly after watching 3 episodes it does not resemble anything similar to sex in the city at all. It is a fair representation of 2000s straight bro culture, which is to say I'm glad we've moved past that era.
I feel like the shows popularity back then hinged on the celebrity cameos, which at the time compelled viewers to watch simply to see who'd appear in the next week's episode. The take that this show is an "escapist fantasy" fits in that context, because the audience could live vicariously through the main characters' encounters with celebrities and imagine "so that's what it would be like to meet that person".
