This was pretty good! I had my hesitations going in only because the original is so iconic but Adam Wingard strikes again.
The story was able to do a lot more and up the supernatural ante now that it doesn't have to pretend to be "real" footage. I'm sure what freaked audiences out originally was the unseen and the realistic descent into madness with the small group. Here, Wingard was able to put the characters into all sorts of peril while still maintaining the "found footage" aesthetic and keeping within the Blair Witch lore.
I highly recommend this one to fans of the original.
