I am a great fan of the original black and white television show from the 60s, and I've seen the previous two movies with Raul Julia, Anjelica Huston and Christopher Lloyd. So, I heard that this movie was coming along and since it was only done as a TV film, I didn't expect much from it. Boy, was I wrong! Addams Family Reunion restores the franchise to the tone and fun quality that the classic TV series has, something that was dampened by the cartoon show and the other two movies. The movies are good of course, but they were largely focused on strong gothic themes and adult humour; and the cartoon, BLEURGH! It lost all pathos! The film begins with Gomez and Fester worrying about their grandparents as they appear to be turning normal, and so they decide to attend a family reunion to seek out a cure. The problem is that they were misinformed and they arrive at the wrong reunion. An Adams family one. They are mostly greeted with apprehension, with the exception of its patriarch. Back at the mansion, two members of the Adams family end up there and spend what is for them a chaotic night with Grandmama and Cousin Itt. At the reunion, high jinks follow as some of the Adams do their best to act friendly to the Addamses while others plot to have them removed. One word, no sorry, two words: uproarious comedy. You will be turning your insides out with laughter as you see every single moment that makes this film worthy of being a part of the franchise. Come join the reunion party. So get a witch's shawl on, a broomstick you can crawl on. Come and pay a call on... the ADDAMS FAMILY! CLICK! CLICK!
