Somebody I Used to Know
On a trip to her hometown, workaholic Ally reminisces with her ex Sean and starts to question everything about the person she's become. Things only get more confusing when she meets Cassidy, who reminds her of the person she used to be.

This was quite a charming rom-com and impressive second directorial feature from Dave Franco. Alison Brie, workaholic TV producer returns to her hometown Leavenworth, WA to kind of hit reset after finding out her show is getting cancelled. Once home, she happens upon an old-flame (Jay Ellis) and it has her second guessing some of her past decisions as well as what course her life should take from here. Charming and sweet, and doesn’t exactly take the path that you expect it to. The reunion of Brie and Danny Pudi on screen is incredibly pleasing (for Community fans). Their chemistry (non-romantic) is undeniable. Plus, Haley Joel Osment plays a film nerd and his dumb film quotes made me happy. Lots to like for this film. I’m partial to films set near my own home. Male gaze bias—but Brie looks amazing in this film; and I’m not just talking about the scenes with “boobs and bush” (her words, not mine). Worth checking out.
