Watching a Dragon Ball series while it's airing is always an exciting experience, and Dragon Ball Daima is no exception.
While the initial premise for the story didn't grab me (wasn't a fan of a prequel series instead of continuing Dragon Ball Super) I'm intrigued by the prospect of exploring the demon realm. The idea that Namekians originated there is a clever twist that adds depth to Dragon Ball lore, especially regarding Piccolo's destructive past.
The animation is a definite highlight, seeing the Buu saga recapped with the updated art was amazing. It's incredibly smooth and fluid, with a distinct style reminiscent of the DBS Broly movie. However, I felt the recap went on for too long and the episode ended just as the plot was starting to get going. I honestly felt this should've been a two-episode drop.
Despite this minor gripe, Daima has exceeded my expectations. It has a playful energy that captures the heart of Dragon Ball, and I'm eager to see where this new adventure takes us. After a six-year wait, it's great to have Dragon Ball back, and Daima shows promise in delivering the action and humor we've come to expect.
