Bursting with energy, humor, heart…and fury, Polite Society is a delight. My 8 y/o son has been dying to see this since he first saw a trailer months ago and so I brought him to the advanced screening. He loved it. Completely delivered. Priya Kansara is utterly endearing and the sisterly bond that she has with Ritu Arya makes for an enchanting on screen duo. And Nimra Bucha is a perfect foil. This was such a fun watch, particularly that final act. Kansara’s dance sequence is beautiful and captivating. Fight sequences are energetic and fun. The entire package really comes together nicely. Impressive directorial debut from Nida Manzoor. I really encourage everyone to check it out. I’m a little bit worried it won’t find it’s audience. It has some sexual innuendo and a fair amount of cursing that might give some parents pause. But again, my 8 year old son loved it. If you can get passed a few of those moments, it’s worth bringing the family.
