It's a soaking wet day with rain pouring down and one of the best things to do is to go seek refuge in a great old cinema. There's just one problem: a murderer is on the loose and he also has taken refuge there.

I’ll get some gripes out of the way. It takes way too long for this to get going. Over 30 minutes before the first kill to happen, and another 15-20 before things start ramping up.  Al Morir La Matinée, doesn’t that translate to The Death of Cinema?  Wouldn’t that be a cooler and more fitting title?  Some of the kills were underwhelming. Characters were really bland and I had no problem the slaughter of people who talk in the movie theater.
Onto the good. This is a really great setting for a slasher. Some of the kills are excellent.  There’s one that involves exhaled smoke that looked fantastic. There’s an awesome two-for-one that was perfect for this setting. There’s also a scene in the beginning with some spilled gum-balls that gets a nice call back in the finale.
I wasn’t really feeling this film, though, for most of its runtime. I think the last 30 minutes may have done just enough to win me over though to land on a positive.
