This movie has not aged very well. The pacing is too slow and the plot is paper thin. Arnold is always fun to watch, but the characters have so little dialogue that no one has much of a personality. Also, something that always bothers me: it's obvious that the people involved in the Conan movies (this one, the sequel and the one from 2011) have never read a Conan story. Sure, our hero is very strong, but he is also incredibly clever, resourceful, charismatic and able to talk his way out of most situations. Sort of a James Bond or Jason Bourne type, but with great physical strength and using a sword instead of a gun. Maybe someday someone with a hefty budget and a true knowledge of Conan will make a proper movie or even better a TV show. But for now we have these nostalgic but lame movies.
