Superman

Superman
Superman must reconcile his alien Kryptonian heritage with his human upbringing as reporter Clark Kent. As the embodiment of truth, justice and the human way he soon finds himself in a world that views these as old-fashioned.

The movie dives in three years after Superman’s debut, with him saving lives but catching flak for meddling in global conflicts. Enter Lex Luthor (Nicholas Hoult, suitably slimy), who’s scheming to turn the world against Supes with social media smears and shady tech. The plot’s a bit stuffed with characters like Hawkgirl, Green Lantern, and Mister Terrific, but Gunn keeps it lively with vibrant action and witty banter. Krypto the Superdog steals scenes, adding goofy charm. Rachel Brosnahan’s Lois Lane is sharp and fierce, grounding the chaos. Some CGI feels rushed, and the political bits can be heavy-handed, but the heart—Superman’s struggle to do good in a cynical world—lands hard. It’s not perfect, but it’s a bold, crowd-pleasing reboot that sets the DCU on a promising path.
