This was salvaged mostly by the ending that attempts to go full Isabelle Adjani Possession with Sweeney’s final scene. Loved that about it along with the practical gore. And while I liked the general premise, I came away feeling like most of this had one goal in mind, and that was to showcase Sweeney’s breasts without showing her breasts. I liked the Italian setting and the fact that a significant portion of this used Italian dialogue. It was a nice mechanism to separate and distance Cecilia from the rest of the pack and obfuscate to an extent the things that are happening around her. I’m probably giving some grace because I love religious horror—plus that ending really goes for it. But otherwise, I was actually a tad on the side of boredom watching this.
