I liked this quite a bit more than Branagh’s Murder On The Orient Express. Thought the visuals and setting were stunning in most instances even if there were a handful of moments where the green screen CGI obvious. My biggest gripe with MOTOE was that the solution for the crime seemed to come out of nowhere, nearly impossible for a viewer to solve by simply watching the film. Death On The Nile definitely corrects that issue that I had, but Branagh may have over corrected slightly. While the “who” was fairly obvious very early in the film (before the murder even occurs), I did feel like the “how” was a decent mystery, that could have been solved by an astute viewer (Not me). Fun movie, though, and I’m up for Branagh adapting more if he continues to refine the mystery element.
