Two homicide detectives are on a desperate hunt for a serial killer whose crimes are based on the "seven deadly sins" in this dark and haunting film that takes viewers from the tortured remains of one victim to the next. The seasoned Det. Somerset researches each sin in an effort to get inside the killer's mind, while his novice partner, Mills, scoffs at his efforts to unravel the case.

This film was truly captivating and held my attention right up to the final moments. It was quite entertaining to witness a young Brad Pitt getting knocked around, especially considering the established star he has become—he likely wouldn’t allow a director to film such scenes today. The thriller is expertly paced, and I thoroughly appreciated the performances of Morgan Freeman as Somerset and Brad Pitt as Mills. My only complaint is that I predicted the ending about 30 minutes before it arrived, yet I remained engaged with how it all unfolded. I’d rate this movie a solid 4 out of 5.
