Bad Boys II

Bad Boys II
Miami is being flooded with ecstasy that's coming from Cuba through drug lord Johnny Tapia. Detectives Mike Lowrey and Marcus Burnett are on the case, and are determined to bring the man to justice. Additional drama is provided by friction with the DEA, which counts Marcus' younger sister Sydney among its agents, and from Marcus possibly transferring out of the department, leaving Mike without his longtime partner.

/̵͇̿̿/’̿’̿ ̿ ̿̿ I think that Bad Boys II is an awesome film. It is much better than the first movie. The death-defying stunts that are over-the-top, the clever direction and writing, the quirky dialogue, awesome pacing and cinematography, the hilarious humor, and you've got my friends, one of the most unappreciated sequels ever made. It's not terribly unappreciated, but still, not everyone liked this. I do not understand the hate it got from critics. Like seriously, it has a 23% on RT and a 38% on Metacritic. Really? And the critics consensus said "Two and a half hours of explosions and witless banter". Whoever wrote this knows nothing about action-comedies. This movie went over their heads. It does have a 78% by audiences though. It's always the great films that never got/get the respect it's supposed to have. This movie is by no means a masterpiece, but it did not deserve to be chewed up and spat out by most critics like it was a piece of garbage. The critics do know that just giving it a low rating is just going to make things worse. But what's worse about it? Well, this won a Stinkers Bad Movie Award for Worst Sequel and was nominated for Most Intrusive Musical. The film has sustained a large cult following in recent years, but still, that's just bad criticism. I literally died laughing during the film. They do not know how to review great films properly. This might be one of Bay's best flicks. His recent transformers film that I did see in the theaters does show how he has failed as a filmmaker. I'd highly recommend that you go see this great film unspoiled to experience it as an edge of your seat popcorn flick which it really sets out to be, but of course don't expect this to be like Shakespeare, or if you haven't watched it in a while, go rewatch it.
