Annabelle

Annabelle
A couple begins to experience terrifying supernatural occurrences involving a vintage doll shortly after their home is invaded by satanic cultists.

Event Horizon (1997) explored cosmic damnation through existential despair and metaphysical terror, while Annabelle tepidly ambles through formulaic demonology with all the ontological weight of a porcelain paperweight. Where Dr. Weir’s descent into the abyss felt like an invocation of ancient, unknowable malevolence, Annabelle’s haunted antics amount to perfunctory jump scares and perfumed satanism—an anemic simulacrum of horror wrapped in baroque doll imagery and narrative inertia.
