Aquamarine is the ULTIMATE summer movie, especially if you ever played mermaids in the pool as a kid 🥹. This was mermaidcore before it was even a thing: cute little beach town, mermaid royalty (I think she’s a princess?!), salt water hair, starfish earrings, and the CUTEST lil blue dress thing that she kept repurposing while on land - I AM TELLING YOU THIS MOVIE IS EVERYTHING ðŸ˜. There’s even a part where the bully gets her comeuppance in THEEEE most satisfying way - nothing major, but ol’ girl gets clocked and we love to see it!
My only (joking) complaint is that Jojo never sang in this movie, which is perfectly understandable but come on.. it’s Jojo. Like grab a mic and save ya granny’s hotel or whatever, girl!
Super lighthearted flick that stands the test of time. Turn your brain off, this movie, and thank me later 🥰💕
