The Fantastic Four: First Steps

The Fantastic Four: First Steps
Against the vibrant backdrop of a 1960s-inspired, retro-futuristic world, Marvel's First Family is forced to balance their roles as heroes with the strength of their family bond, while defending Earth from a ravenous space god called Galactus and his enigmatic Herald, Silver Surfer.

This is a great movie. What it does well IT DOES WELL. The actors all OWN the characters they play and they are all perfectly casted. Johnny & Sue Storm especially are the MVPs of the movie for me. Some could be disappointed by the story, but I actually think it works really well and they do a great job of foreshadowing things that happen later on. The retro-futuristic aesthetic of the movie is absolutely PERFECT and the visuals & CGI is probably the best the MCU has ever looked. The family dynamic is outstanding, and you feel it from the very start.
The Fantastic Four as a team does not rely on fight/action scenes (in the comics and in the movie) so if you’re looking for a ton of fights, that’s not what you’re getting here. However, that’s never the focus of the fantastic four so for the movie it works.
By no means is this a perfect film, but this movie did these characters right, unlike the other F4 movies.
