A selected group of ambitious young black men are invited into an upstanding Fraternal Society House with great promise. What they come to learn and find out about the place, and themselves will perpetually haunt them for the rest of their lives.
My quick rating - 4.2/10. Oh, I don't care if they were trying to get some message across. It gets so buried in pretentious nonsense trying to get to it that you won't care much when you realize it. The story is about a fraternity of black men that holds other secrets, other than who knows what was the guise in getting people to visit it was. Instead of learning anything about society or maybe what slavery was, we get strange homoerotic behavior and mental anguish to attempt to teach something. The whole thing was more a trial of patience, and they grabbed a couple of decent actors to take part in it. I have a feeling that if I watched this a few more times, I would commit myself for being insane, but maybe I would also get a bit more out of it. And since I am in no mood to do that, I'll take it as it was on first viewing, a mess that needed guidance. Ending it and not knowing if it was supernatural or not was the last straw for my patience.
