I liked how gory this movie dared to be, and the vibes and vfx were cool but I got bored midway. There’s hardly any character backstories so I didn’t find myself connecting to any of them. Dredd is built up to be this stoic badass juggernaut, which he is, but it comes off as very flat to me when that’s his personality throughout the entire runtime. People compare this to The Raid, but it’s not even close when it comes to the action, it’s just the premise being the same of a cop battling his way through levels of an apartment block. This is a decent entertaining film to pass the time with friends, but seeing it alone was a mediocre experience for me.
