Genuinely impressed with how good this was.
Editing: Beautiful. Full of sharp, jarring cuts that ratchet up (or wonderfully break) the tension.
Acting: Some absolutely PHENOMENAL performances here. Naomi Ackie (The scene with the knife and vape), Channing Tatum ("I'M SORRY), and Liz Caribel (Water pouring revelation) in particular really stood out. And getting these kinds of performances from the actors? Bravo Zoe Kravitz.
Tone: A problem I can sometimes have with horror movies is when they lean too hard on the terror and bleakness of a situation without any moments of levity. Yes, tension is fantastic. But being tense for an entire movie is *exhausting*. Blink Twice so fantastically balanced the incredibly dark tone of the movie with some genuinely funny and heartfelt moments.
Writing: Sooo much visual storytelling and just a TON of set-up and pay-off moments. Honestly looking forward to my next watch to catch more.
