His unknowing wife is also French, and she finds that her brother has been arrested by the Republic to try to get her to find out who "that damned elusive Pimpernel" really is.

Leslie Howard is perfect as the foppish Percy Blakeney who moonlights as the Scarlet Pimpernel in this, the best film adaptation of the classic tale. If I'm wrong, "sink me"!
